Whilst I had a little difficulty with the notion of serving a Chinese-styleomelette with gravy, I do try to be open-minded where food is concerned, so in a nod to a transatlantic friend of mine, I did make a sauce based on a light chicken stock - which I'm afraid I then just couldn't help flavouring with soy, ginger, oyster sauce and toasted sesame oil

I don’t know if it was the cold weather recently in Adelaide, but I had a craving for Chinese food. The Special Fried Rice was delightful as the rice was “light and fluffy” and thought there was a generous portion of prawns to peas and egg omelette ratio

Here it’s made really colourful with brown rice, carrot, pumpkin, peanuts (again), radish, beancurd, Chinese white cabbage, chickpeas and a green sauce made with basil, mint, and a host of other herbs is poured on top before eating

There are Thai twists on Chinese items like Yong Tau Fu and Lard Naa. The tamarind based soup with omelette and prawns reminds me of the Bangkok Restaurant at Capitol Square nearby, but this version is more rewarding
