Salmon Mornay Pasta Bake

Ingredients

  • 250 g small pasta
  • 160 g butter
  • 12 tablespoons plain flour
  • 13 cups milk
  • 11 egg
  • 1415 g can salmon, drained, bones removed, flaked
  • 14 green onions, chopped
  • 11 tablespoon grain mustard
  • 1 juice ½ lemon
  • 1 salt and pepper
  • 11 cup grated tasty cheese
  • 11/2 – 1 cup dry breadcrumbsCook pasta following packet directions
  • 1 Melt butter in a medium saucepan
  • 1 Stir in flour, cook, stirring, for 1 minute, remove from heat
  • 1 Slowly stir in milk, return to heat
  • 1 Cook, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens
  • 1 Stir in egg, simmer for 3 minutes
  • 1 Mix in salmon, onions, mustard, lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Simmer for a further minute
  • 1 Pour salmon mixture into saucepan of pasta, mix to combine
  • 1 Spoon mixture into casserole dish
  • 1 Sprinkle with combined cheese and breadcrumbs
  • 1 Bake in a moderate oven for 25 – 30 minutes or until heated through and golden
