I have plenty of friends that are vegetarian and open to vegan food, but none that are full crazy vegan so it's nice to go to play dates like this and chat with other people that are passionate about the same issues and plainly just "get it"

Slice the last strawberry and mix it with a tsp caster sugar. Make sure the strawberry is coated. Fill each case with the cream cheese mixture, top with sliced strawberries and drizzle over any of the strawberry juice
Decorate the cake with the fresh strawberry slices. For the final day of BM#41 under pick one and cook/bake theme as I am cooking with strawberries , I made this strawberry filled cream cake from here. Keep refrigerated for 1 hour and then slice and serve the strawberry cream cake immediately
This quickly evolved into the idea of perhaps a strawberry tart. I was experimenting on dinner guests, which I generally don't like to do, but these friends were our neighbors and well, they've seen me in my pajamas so an experimental strawberry tart would not be too terrible
I have such fond memories of going to the Ekka as a child - catching the train in with huge crowds of people, feeding the animals, climbing into the rickety stands to watch the dog show, eating a dagwood dog and a strawberry sundae
